In these difficult times the SVP provides practical and pastoral support for the housebound or parishioners in residential care – whoever they are, wherever they are from, whatever their religion or beliefs. We can also offer short-term help, advice and support for families in emergency situations. Weekly meetings are held to discuss new and on-going parish needs and members assess the level of support which can be offered. The SVP prayer includes the ethos of Vincentian spirituality:
Father, grant that Communion with Christ present in the Holy Eucharist may impel us to love you by serving Him in our neighbour and help us to respond with open hearts to the suffering of others, aware of the depths of our own needs.’
