Rev. Dave Morriss, Deacon

Dave Morriss, husband of Louisa and father to two children, Ian and Jennifer was born in 1946. He became a proud grandfather in 2013 when Jennifer give birth to her first son Jacob and 2 years later was blessed with a second grandchild, Jorgia.

After many years of service to the parish in one form or another Dave answered the call to the vocation of the Diaconate. Following three years of study and preparation Dave was ordained a permanent Deacon by Bishop Brian Noble in St. Alban’s Church on 6th July 1999.

A plasterer to trade in his early days of employment Dave had retired from his most recent job as a coach driver after his ordination, but happily took many a “busman’s” holiday with trips organised for and by the Parish.

Sadly on 12th January 2019 Dave passed away after many years of faithful ministry to the people of the parish. His funeral was held in the Church of St Alban on 11th Feb attended by Emeritus Bishop Rev Brian Noble and many clergy from across the diocese of Shrewsbury. He is much missed by the parish family and we pray that he will rest in peace.
