GEOFFREY O’GRADY: was born on 31st January 1945 in Louisburgh Co Mayo, Ireland. He is the 10th member of his family. Fr O’Grady trained for the priesthood at All Hallows College Dublin. He served in the following appointments 1969-74 St Saviours, Great Sutton; 1974-78 Pontifical Biblical institute Rome doing a LSS degree (a degree in Scripture); 1978-81 teaching Scripture at Ushaw College, Durham; 1981-84 teaching in Rakwaro Junior Seminary Kenya; 1985 -91 Parish Priest of Holy Family Parish, Pensby; 1991-99 Parish Priest St Mary’s, Middlewich and St Margaret Ward, Holmes Chapel; 1999-2000 Parish Priest St Alban’s, Liscard; 2000-2010 Parish Priest St Ambrose Adswood (and St Vincent’s Bramhall since 1999-2000).
I have very pleasant memories of my time (short though it was) in St Alban’s.
